How salary conversion works

Hourly pay × working hours per week × 52 ÷ 12 gives average monthly gross earnings. Monthly pay × 12 ÷ 52 ÷ working hours per week gives the equivalent hourly rate. This assumes the same paid hours throughout the year.

Worked example

EC$25 per hour for 40 paid hours a week gives EC$4,333.33 average monthly gross pay. Unpaid leave, changing schedules and overtime can change actual earnings.

Employer considerations

NIC estimates use the published 5% employee and employer rates with the EC$5,000 monthly ceiling. PAYE requires an employee-specific revised tax code following the 2026 amendments; current PAYE verification is incomplete. Employer contributions are paid in addition to gross earnings; they are not deducted from an employee’s net pay.
